FEBRUARY 2011

As we move into the month of February Jupiter is now in full gear in Aries beginning a new 12 year cycle of growth, opportunity, and hope.

Mars the Warrior brings some courageous action to Saturn and Neptune during this month…..

MARS TRINES SATURN

On February 6th Mars in Aquarius comes together in a trine with Saturn in Libra. The trine, an easy flow of energy between these two planets isn’t very compelling, but these two planets are.  Mars is courage, drive and passion, and in Aquarius seeks to cut an authentic path.  Saturn is wisdom, discipline, and structure and in Libra seeks beauty, balance, and peace.  Mars can also be impatient and brash and Saturn can be reserved and stern, but with conscious application of the gifts of these two planets there is the opportunity to produce or experience something substantially dynamic.

MARS CONJUNCTS NEPTUNE

On February 20th, Mars in Aquarius conjuncts the planet Neptune in Aquarius. This fusion between fiery Mars and dreamy Neptune, rattles Neptune, but provides a burst of drive, passion, and action needed to energize and realize some of the divine inspired visions of authentic experience Neptune has been guiding us towards.

JUPITER SQUARES PLUTO

Later in the month Jupiter the planet of growth, opportunity and hope makes a square with the planet Pluto on the 25th. Jupiter having recently moved into the sign of Aries is all about the hope and optimism of starting over; of new beginnings, and the courage and initiative that new beginning requires.  Then with what I feel is needed wisdom from the Cosmos, just as Jupiter begins a new cycle it runs into a difficult tense aspect with Pluto, God of the Underworld, the planet that brings transformation into our lives one way or the other..

Right off the bat the idea of “meaningful beginnings” is brought to the table with Jupiter squaring Pluto; and at this point in human evolvement this offers something precious. What is truly meaningful to each and every one of us as we step off in a new, exciting and brightly hopeful direction?  Jupiter is concerned with the future and with the desire to grow and reach out and embrace new experiences can forget to look before leaping, and especially in the sign of Aries.  Aries wants everything right now, and with this new cycle wants to really get going with starting over, and that quickness can get in the way of taking time to be sure that there is something solid and worthwhile to leap onto as the new journey begins.

Pluto now in the sign of Capricorn brings us the opportunity to commit to something  worthwhile that supports and strengthens our own personal integrity;  something solid and lasting and that will require the best of us; however, Pluto will also give us the chance to take a darker path if we so choose. It’s as if Pluto has grabbed our collective elbow and turned us to look into his eyes as he asks in a luring tone  “Are you sure this is what you really want?”  When Pluto is part of the picture we can feel obsession for someone or something that in the end can deepen our wounds;  or we can passionately develop and bring our gifts to the world,  and in doing so bring some inner healing as we deepen our lives with meaningful experience.

Therefore, when this square between Jupiter and Pluto occurs understand that the beginning, the choices we make and that first step is important to the nature of the journey. Although there can be a desire to just get started; take a bit of time to truly determine where it is you want to go with this great opportunity for growth. Choose your course with care and courage even if it seems like the choices are difficult. Engage your determination and passion and feed your faith that life is worth living as you set out on this new cycle of discovering and realizing your biggest, brightest and most meaningful dreams for your future
